I took this car in part exchange from a local owner who was totally fastidious with his cars. This X5 was his pride and joy and it has been kept in a condition that can only be described as immaculate. The car is finished in metallic silver with the BMW M-Coloured grill giving its a clean and modern look. Xenon headlights and parking sensors both front and rear along with 19" M Sport alloy wheels give this car real road presence. The M-Sport bodystyling includes distinctive wheel arch extensions and our car even has the sought after panoramic twin-sunroof which is a sought after option on these cars. The interior is immaculate and superbly equipped. The seats are trimmed in luxurious light grey leather and the car is fitted with hard wearing, tailored rubber overmats. The boot floor has an additional plastic load cover and under the bonnet you will find an engine that is literally clean enough to eat your dinner off. The glass roof lets in load of light and it can be opened by either sliding or tilting the glass panels (fully electric) to let in fresh air. When you want to shelter from the sun an electric blind can be slid across for a more snug feeling. The sunroof and blinds can even be shut using the key. That said, snug is probably not the best word for the X5s cabin - This car is huge with plenty of comfort for 5 adults and 4x electric seats as well as an electric memory function on the front chairs. This car is fitted with BMWs I-drive system which includes Navigation and a bluetooth phone system. There is a visual display for the parking sensors along with the usual acoustic beeping to aid you into tight spots. They designed this car to perform superbly on the road - so it goes, stops and handles like the ultimate driving machine they claim it to be. The ride and handling are better than most conventional sports saloons and the performance that can be unleashed from Twin-turbo diesel engine is quite surprising. This model has a 6 speed automatic transmission which feels slick and precise with a sports mode and tiptronic manual. The driving position is excellent and visibility is superb - Its an easy and rewarding car to drive, and feels as though it has been built to last. Superb handling and roadholding which are guaranteed to please the keen driver, as well as those who want comfort and luxury. It is a fun car to punt along a B-Road, and will also happily cruise in near-silence on the motorway. Well weighted steering and powerful ABS brakes ensure that no aspect of this cars drive is compromised. Yes, a Landrover is better off-road, but the X5 is more than capable of anything you will throw at it during the harshest of winters, and will still be a pleasure to own during the summer months when you can enjoy the benefit of its tinted glass and air-conditioned interior. I am always impressed by the quality of these cars and I have used this particular car for the past 3 weeks and 1500 miles. Despite having covered 126k miles from new, you would be hard pushed to notice any adverse wear on this car.
